MacMat HS
Reinforced geomat for slope stabilization
MacMat HS is the next-generation of high performance geomats, combining a three-dimensional matrix polymeric geomat reinforced with Maccaferri’s Steelgrid system. It is used for demanding slope face stabilisation applications which require a combination of erosion protection and superficial stabilisation.
The reinforcing hexagonal steel wire mesh has mechanical performance characteristics that exceed those recommended in EN 10223-3. The wire is heavily galvanised with Zn-Al5% in accordance with 10244-2, Class A.
The galvanised wire and reinforcing cables are also available with an additional polymeric coating. Mechanical performance of the product (tensile strength, puncture resistance) is the same as Maccaferri Steelgrid.

EROSION CONTROL AT CISUMDAWU TOLL ROAD-PHASE II-TUNNEL AREA
Cut slopes at Cisumdawu Toll Road (Phase II – Tunnel Area) are prone to soil erosion due to its vulnerability to rainfall and lack of vegetation on the slope surface. The selection of proper material was necessary in order to provide an integrated and comprehensive solution. Erosion Control Solution by Maccaferri Indonesia was selected considering its ability to allow surface seepage and to grow vegetation (LCC – Legume Cover Crop). Permanent Open Drainage (Vertical and Horizontal) is constructed on the cut slopes and it enhances controlling the surface water flow.

SK - ODKALISKO DÚBRAVA

V novembri 2019 došlo na odkalisku č. 2 Dúbrava k vzniku havárie, ktorá mala za následok poškodenie hrádze odkaliska a vytečenie časti uložených úpravárenských (banských) sedimentov do územia pod odkaliskom. Hlavnými príčinami vzniku havárie boli mimoriadne zrážky v kombinácii s nevhodným antropogénnym zásahom do hydrologického režimu, spôsobeným zrejme ťažbou dreva. Vytekajúca voda z vybreženého potoka smerovala po neudržiavaných lesných cestách do územia odkaliska, kde spôsobila eróziu povrchu odkaliska a vzdušnej strany stabilizačnej hrádze v severnej časti odkaliska.

SLOPE PROTECTION AT THE TBILISI, GEORGIA

In the Gldani district of Tbilisi, a steep slope adjacent to a roadway was experiencing rockfalls and surface erosion due to weathering, freeze-thaw cycles, and rainfall. These processes caused fragmented rock material to detach and accumulate on the road, posing significant risks to traffic safety and vehicle integrity. Additionally, progressive surface erosion compromised the slope’s stability, increasing the likelihood of larger-scale failures. Given the ongoing hazard and public safety concerns, an urgent and durable remedial solution was required.
